For Dr. Audra Dorroh, the dream of opening Aesthetic Dental & Skin Institute wasn’t just a business decision — it was a vision that combined her 15 years of dental expertise with her passion for aesthetics. The result is a med spa that she said offers an experience unlike any other in the tri-state area.

“We created a space where beauty meets science, and clients feel truly cared for,” Audra said. “Every appreciative client, every ‘wow’ moment in the mirror – that’s what keeps me inspired every day.”

Audra and her husband Dr. Colby Dorroh, a specialist in emergency medicine, bring a unique blend of precision, artistry, and medical expertise that sets their clinic apart.

“Our approach is more than just providing services; it’s about giving our patients the confidence to feel their best,” Audra said.

Audra said that along with having an experienced team, including RNs Missy Holtrey and Jasmine Jenkin, who have a combined 30+ years of medical experience, patients can trust that their treatments are performed in a medically sound and professional environment with direct doctor supervision.

Audra’s journey to aesthetics was a natural one. With a background in dentistry, she was already well-versed in facial anatomy and the science behind improving her patients’ smiles. However, offering aesthetic treatments reignited her passion for her work and allowed her to expand her offerings beyond the dental chair.

“I’ve always been fascinated by the facial muscles, nerves, and bones,” she said. “Aesthetic medicine presented a fresh challenge and an opportunity for professional growth. I now have the chance to help my patients feel confident and beautiful in new ways.”

The services at Aesthetic Dental & Skin Institute are designed to address a wide range of needs. From cosmetic and comprehensive dentistry to signature med spa treatments, the spa offers facials, chemical peels, microneedling, laser treatments, Botox, dermal fillers, PDO threads, and IV nutrition therapy. The clinic also provides physician-managed medical weight loss, sclerotherapy, and anti-aging therapies, among other services.

“We’ve been incredibly thankful for the warm and enthusiastic response from the Owensboro community,” Audra said. “From day one, the community has welcomed us with open arms and trusted us with their dental, skincare, and wellness goals. It’s been so rewarding to watch our med spa grow into something truly special.”

The future of Aesthetic Dental & Skin Institute looks bright, according to both Audra and Colby. As the demand for non-invasive aesthetic treatments grows, so too does the opportunity to expand their offerings. Colby is particularly excited about the prospect of rolling out bioidentical hormone replacement therapy (BHRT) to help patients in their anti-aging journey.

“We plan to keep growing by listening to our patients and offering new services based on their needs,” he said. “If there’s something they want that we don’t currently offer, we do the research and make sure we can provide it at the highest professional standards.”

For the Dorrohs, owning their own business has also meant gaining control over their professional destiny. In traditional medical settings, they felt their hands were tied in terms of what treatments they could offer. Now, they are free to choose which therapies meet their standards.

“The most rewarding part of owning a med spa is the ability to make a meaningful impact on our patients’ lives,” Colby said. “Helping people feel confident and comfortable in their own skin is incredibly fulfilling. It’s about preventing problems before they start, not just reacting to them. And that’s a powerful thing.”

The Dorrohs said they are committed to continually enhancing their services and helping their patients look and feel their best.

As Audra reflects on the success of her venture, she remains grateful for the chance to do what she loves and to make a lasting impact on her community.

“We’re here to help people feel confident, beautiful, and empowered,” she said. “That’s the heart of everything we do.”
