Owensboro Catholic Schools has named Carrie Osborne as the next principal of its 4-6 Campus, adding a familiar face and passionate educator to its leadership team.

Osborne comes to the role with over 15 years of experience in elementary education, most recently serving at West Louisville Elementary after several years at Country Heights. A graduate of Western Kentucky University with a bachelor’s degree in elementary education and a master’s in literacy from the University of the Cumberlands, Osborne said she felt a personal and professional calling to step into leadership.

“I’ve always thought I could bring something more to the table in administration,” Osborne said. “I have young kids, and now that they’re a little older, it felt like the right time to grow both personally and professionally.”

Osborne and her husband, Andrew, have three children who attend Owensboro Catholic Schools. They are parishioners at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church.

Osborne’s opportunity to take the helm at the 4-6 Campus came after encouragement from her sister, who serves as assistant principal at the K-3 Campus. Osborne said she prayed often throughout the process and felt a sense of peace after the interview.

“It was definitely a roller coaster of emotions, because change is hard,” she said. “But I had this calmness through it all that really made me feel like it was meant to be.”

OCS Chief Education Officer Tracy Conkright said Osborne brings “faith, enthusiasm, and devotion for students” to the role.

“Carrie will make an excellent addition to our leadership team,” Conkright said. “Her passion is centered on student engagement, curriculum, and building relationships with families, students, and coworkers.”

Osborne has also been active beyond the classroom, serving on school-based decision-making councils, coaching academic teams, and mentoring new teachers as a KTIP Teacher Leader. She is a graduate of the Future Leaders Academy and has contributed to curriculum development and data-driven instruction.

As she steps into her new role, Osborne said her short-term goal is simply to continue the strong momentum already in place at the 4-6 Campus.

“I just want to get in, get my feet wet, and learn everything I can,” she said. “It’s an honor to be part of this community, and I’m excited to get started in this role.”
