Escape Today is shaking things up with a major relaunch, adding a slate of new activities and weekend drink service. Beginning Friday, customers can enjoy a karaoke room, golf simulator, dart machines, pool tables, and a basketball arcade game — all in addition to the existing retro arcade, axe throwing, and escape rooms.
“We’ve been here for almost 9 years now, and it was time to add some new activities that were a little more modern and bigger-city offerings that Owensboro traditionally wouldn’t get,” said owner David Haynes. “We’ve heard from customers that there aren’t many places to play pool or throw darts in town, and now we have two of each.”
Haynes said the goal is to give locals more reasons to stay in town for their entertainment by offering experiences not commonly found in the area.
Escape Today also plans to begin weekend alcohol service through a partnership with neighboring business The Brew Bridge. Starting this weekend, trained bartenders from Brew Bridge will serve a full lineup of beer, cocktails, and mixed drinks on Friday and Saturday nights at Escape Today.
“We’re still family friendly up until 9 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays,” Haynes said. “The Green Cup District means customers can come in, get a drink from us, and walk downtown with it too, so it works out well for everybody.”
To celebrate the relaunch, Escape Today is offering 50% off all new activities from noon on August 1 through 6 p.m. on August 3.
The business is located in downtown Owensboro at 820 West 2nd Street and is currently open Tuesday through Thursday from 12-8 p.m., Friday and Saturday from 12 p.m.-12 a.m., and Sunday from 12-6 p.m. For more information, visit escapeowensboro.com.
