Owensboro Catholic Middle School has named Steve Garvin as its new principal, and he brings a broad range of leadership experience and a deep-rooted commitment to Catholic education.
“I am truly honored to begin this new chapter as principal of Owensboro Catholic Middle School,” Garvin said. “I look forward to walking alongside our students, families, and staff as we grow together in faith, academic excellence, and service to others.”
Garvin most recently served as director of faith formation at Immaculate Catholic Church, where he oversaw the K–8 religious education program, coordinated sacramental preparation, and worked closely with catechists, parents, and staff to foster the spiritual growth of children.
His career spans roles in school administration, theology instruction, and business operations, which OCS officials say makes him a well-rounded leader with a passion for student success.
Tracy Conkright, Chief Education Officer for Owensboro Catholic Schools, said Garvin’s background and values make him an excellent fit for the role.
“Steve brings many gifts to our system,” Conkright said. “He is deeply committed to his faith and has a strong desire to positively shape students’ lives. I am excited to work with Steve and see the positive impact he will have on our students and staff.”
Garvin holds a bachelor of arts in Philosophy from St. Meinrad College. He and his wife, Kim, have four children, two of whom currently attend Owensboro Catholic Schools. The family is an active member of Immaculate Catholic Church.
