Mike Wolfe of American Pickers and his girlfriend Leticia Cline made a pit stop in downtown Owensboro on Thursday, grabbing lunch at Colby’s during a motorcycle ride from Franklin, TN, to Milwaukee for a Harley-Davidson event.
Drawn by Leticia’s past visit for a Kentucky League of Cities conference, the two came for the food — and the history.
“I loved it,” Wolfe said, talking about both the food and the architecture. “Great people, great food, and great service. Anywhere that has good food in a historic building, that’s where I want to be.”
Before heading out, Wolfe was drawn to a faded “motocycles” sign on a nearby building for a quick photo. Then, true to form, he made an unscheduled turn into David P. Taylor Antiques — despite Cline’s reminder that there wasn’t room on the bike to haul anything back.
