After just over 2 years in business, Tied With a Bow Gift Shop will close its doors at the end of the month. Owner Cassie Stelmach said the decision was rooted in a desire to slow down and spend more time with her family, and she’s open to selling the business to the right buyer.

“This has been such a blessing, and the community has been so supportive,” Stelmach said. “But I want to be more available for my grandkids.”

Located in the strip center at 3601 Frederica Street across from Red Lobster, Tied With a Bow quickly became known for its cheerful atmosphere and curated gifts. Stelmach launched the store in 2023, fulfilling a longtime dream once all her children were grown.

Stelmach said that as she started looking at inventory for the upcoming holiday seasons, the timing to close felt right.

“In retail, you’re always planning seasons ahead,” she said. “With my lease coming due and Christmas ordering already underway, I knew it was time to make a decision.”

That decision became final earlier this month. The shop will officially close on July 31, and a progressive clearance sale is now underway. The store is open Tuesday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Fixtures and furniture are also being sold, with most already spoken for — though the main custom-built counters remain available.

Stelmach is also open to passing the torch if the right buyer emerges.

“If someone’s been thinking about doing something like this — dreaming about it, praying about it — I’d definitely be open to talking to them,” she said. Interested parties can contact her by calling the store at 270-570-5315.

Reflecting on the last 2 years, Stelmach is grateful for the community’s support.

“We’ve had a good, loyal customer base. I’m so grateful to all of them,” she said. “It’s been wonderful getting to meet so many people that I probably would not have had contact with otherwise. I feel like it’s brought me a lot of joy. I hope it’s brought other people a lot of joy, too.”
