Pricing
There are two price levels:
- Any entries in “The People’s Slice” category will be sold for $15. Think traditional pizza with unique toppings for these entries.
- Any entries in the “Outside the Pizza Box” category will be sold for $10. These are “non-traditional” pizzas and can be anything from a dessert to quesadillas to sandwiches.
Why there’s no “by the slice” option
Pizza Week doesn’t come with a “by the slice” option, and for good reason. (And yes, we consulted with multiple business owners before making this decision.) Each entry is a special off-menu creation that takes extra time to make, so slicing out just one piece could leave the rest to waste. Most of our local spots don’t serve by the slice anyway, and we want to keep the focus on supporting their businesses the way they normally operate, not changing their business model.
Plus, pizza is meant to be shared, and at around $15 for a whole pie that feeds 3-4 people, it’s still a pretty tasty deal.
While Pizza Week is designed to be a fun experience for the community, it’s important to remember that the heart of the event lies with the restaurants and the people working inside them. Chefs, owners, servers, and staff are putting in extra effort to craft unique creations, handle larger crowds, and deliver memorable experiences. Supporting them with kindness, patience, and generosity ensures that Pizza Week remains a celebration of Owensboro’s food scene.

Reminder: The (unofficial) house rules
Every good pizza party comes with a few ground rules. Think of them as the toppings that make Owensboro Times Pizza Week even better. While not official, we highly encourage all Pizza Week diners to follow these five simple steps:
- Tip your servers, because they’re the real MVPs.
- Order extra food, because pizza never travels alone.
- Post on social media, and be sure to show off those slices with #OTPizzaWeek.
- Vote! Every slice deserves your say.
- For the love of cheese, be kind. We want good vibes only.
Sponsors and partners
Owensboro Times Pizza Week is possible with help from sponsors and partners. We want to thank our poll sponsor WBKR, along with Chad Benefield and Mary-Katherine Maddox, for their participation in videos and on air. Award sponsors include Barrel Heads Liquor Market, CRS OneSource, and Vass CDJR.
How to get a “pizza” the action
From September 19-28, order the special Pizza Week creations at participating restaurants. Scan the QR code at each location or visit owensboropizzaweek.com to vote for your favorites.
OT will serve up daily coverage, behind-the-scenes videos, sneak peeks, and interactive polls (yes, including the age-old “does pineapple belong on pizza?” debate).
Save the date
Mark your calendars for September 19-28. Until then, sharpen your appetite. Pizza Week is coming hot and fresh out of the oven.
