The Green River Area Development District (GRADD) is bringing its annual Senior Games in the Park to McLean County this Friday. Organizers said the day will feature a range of friendly competitions for adults over 50, including cornhole, ladder golf, bocce, football throw, duck races, putt-putt, Plinko, Fling-A-Ring, and more.

The event will be held on September 26 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Myer Creek Park in Calhoun. Seniors from all seven counties under GRADD’s umbrella are invited to attend.

“This is a fantastic opportunity for our amazing seniors to stay active, connect with friends old and new, enjoy lively entertainment and dancing, and share a delicious meal,” said Sandra Martin, executive director of McLean County Senior Services. “We can’t wait to see everyone there and make this a memorable celebration of community, health, and happiness.”

GRADD Director of Aging & Social Services Leslie Wilson said the games are designed to celebrate both wellness and fellowship.

“By staying active, connected, and engaged, participants not only strengthen their bodies but also their sense of belonging and joy in the GRADD region,” Wilson said.

Seniors who wish to attend are asked to RSVP through their local senior center. Transportation options may be available through county senior services.
