The inaugural Owensboro Times Pizza Week drew crowds and plenty of creative pies, and now it’s time to celebrate the winners! Several restaurants earned top honors across multiple categories.
The Owensboro Times will release feature stories on each winner throughout the day, highlighting the pizzas and other creations that stood out and the local businesses behind them. Awards include categories for traditional and non-traditional offerings, as well as recognition for the restaurants that sold the most items.
Check back here for updates as each winner is revealed. Winners of the coloring contest, the mascot naming contest, and the Pizza Passport challenge will be contacted at a later date.
Winners (will be updated):
- Beef ‘O’ Brady’s earned the “Dough$ Maker (Non-traditional Pizza)” award, selling more creations than any other restaurant in that category. Their winning entry, the Supreme Pizza Dippers, proved to be both creative and crowd-pleasing.
- Doozie Doez turned heads with a sweet spin on a classic. The local bakery won the “Outside the Pizza Box” award — the community vote for favorite non-traditional pizza offering — for their Pineapple Paradise creation.
- Donatos’ Parrish Avenue location claimed the “Dough$ Maker (Traditional Pizza)” award after selling more pizzas than any other single restaurant in that category. Meanwhile, Donatos as a whole also earned “The People’s Slice” award, winning the community vote for favorite traditional pizza offering.
- Niko’s Bakery and Cafe rose to the top, winning the premier “The Supreme” award with their bold and hearty Sicilian pizza! The prize was decided by a 15-person judging panel.
Owensboro Times Pizza Week was possible with help from sponsors WBKR, Barrel Heads Liquor Market, CRS OneSource, and Vass CDJR.
