A locally filmed holiday movie will soon make its national television debut. “A Christmas Pitch” — produced by Goldenrod Film and Television — will premiere November 8 on the Great American Family Channel.

The romantic comedy was filmed primarily in Madisonville, with several key scenes shot in Owensboro, including a memorable ice-skating sequence at the Edge Ice Center.

Goldenrod co-founder Jeremy Winton said the project drew large crowds during its hometown premiere.

“It sold out the theater in Madisonville, and they had to open a second one to accommodate everyone who wanted to see it,” he said. “We’re really proud of how this one turned out.”

Winton said the Great American Family pickup represents a major milestone for the growing film industry in western Kentucky.

Since completing “A Christmas Pitch,” Goldenrod has expanded its operations to include the Kentucky Sound Stage in Owensboro — a move he said is helping attract more regional and national productions to the area.

Goldenrod co-founder Kristi Kilday said the project fulfills the company’s mission to showcase Kentucky’s charm while expanding opportunities for local talent.

“I’m beyond thrilled that ‘A Christmas Pitch’ will be featured on Great American Family — marking a moment where Madisonville and Owensboro will forever be part of movie history,” Kilday said. “This is exactly why I came to Kentucky: to make movies that shine a light on the heart, spirit, and beauty of this state.”

She credited the Kentucky Entertainment Incentive for helping make the production possible.

“This is a celebration not just for me and Jeremy, but for the cities of Owensboro and Madisonville — and for the entire Commonwealth of Kentucky,” she said.

The film features themes of love, laughter, and second chances, aligning closely with the tone of popular holiday networks like Hallmark and Lifetime. It will be available through most major cable and streaming providers that carry Great American Family, including Spectrum, YouTube TV, and satellite services.

Kilday said she hopes audiences will gather with cocoa in hand and enjoy the premiere as the holiday season begins.
