Owensboro Catholic High School on Friday formally dedicated “Kamuf Way,” a tribute to the late Charlie Kamuf — a 1957 graduate whose decades of advocacy, generosity, and service helped strengthen Catholic education across the community.
Kamuf, who died on November 30, 2024, was known in part for his unwavering support of Owensboro Catholic Schools. His children, and now his grandchildren, have followed in his footsteps through the faith-based education he valued so deeply. School officials said Charlie and his wife Linda were steadfast benefactors, offering consistent support to programs and projects throughout the system.
Their most recent contribution helped make possible the expansion of the high school’s parking lot. School leaders said naming the former Taylor Drive as “Kamuf Way” is a visible reminder of the family’s long-standing commitment to Catholic education.
The celebration, held in the school gym, drew students, staff, alumni, and community members. Kamuf’s wife, Linda, joined by their children and grandchildren, attended the unveiling.
Owensboro Catholic Schools is grateful to everyone who joined us as we honored Charlie’s legacy and the continued generosity of the Kamuf family.
