Southern Star Cares has awarded more than $139,000 in grants to seven Owensboro-area nonprofit organizations as part of its 2025 grant cycle, supporting programs focused on youth services, health care, housing, and community outreach.

The 2025 grant recipients and award amounts are:

  • OASIS — $50,000
  • H.L. Neblett Community Center — $37,593

  • Cliff Hagan Boys & Girls Club — $6,970
  • U of L Foundation (Community Dental Clinic) — $3,240

According to Southern Star Cares, recipients were selected through a multi-step process that included a review of grant applications, evaluation by the organization’s board of directors, input from team member focus groups, and a vote by employee donors who contributed to the fundraising campaign.

“It’s so exciting to support so many wonderful organizations across the Southern Star system,” said Heather Clark, board president of Southern Star Cares. “We can’t wait to see the impact these groups will make for our community and neighbors as our nonprofit program continues to grow.”
