Fast Lane Auto Repair Plus plans to relocate this spring to the former Walgreens building on KY 54, a move the company says will allow it to serve more customers while reducing wait times.
Fast Lane currently operates two Owensboro locations. Only the newer shop — Fast Lane Auto Repair Plus at 1709 Breckinridge Street — will relocate.
The new facility, which previously housed Walgreens before the pharmacy chain closed the location in early 2025, is a 12,700-square-foot building located at the intersection of KY 54 and Fairview Drive.
Fast Lane Owner Edward Caswell said the newly renovated facility will feature 12 service bays, upgraded equipment, and advanced diagnostic technology aimed at improving efficiency and expanding service capacity.
Caswell said the move will allow the business to better meet customer demand while maintaining the same local service Fast Lane has become known for.
“This move allows us to continue taking care of our customers’ vehicles, but with better tools, more space, and a smarter workflow,” Caswell said. “The new facility on KY 54 puts us in a great, convenient location and gives our technicians access to the latest technology, which means faster repairs and even higher-quality results for our customers.”
Fast Lane Auto Repair was founded by Tony Lane, who opened the business’s first location at 2121 Triplett Street in 2014 with three employees and six bays before expanding to 12 bays. In 2022, Lane added a second location — Fast Lane Auto Repair Plus — on Breckinridge Street to keep up with demand. In 2024, Lane sold the business to Caswell, owner of Full Throttle Automotive in Evansville, citing health issues and confidence in Caswell’s ability to take the company “to the next level.”
Caswell said the expanded KY 54 facility builds on that foundation, allowing Fast Lane to serve more customers without sacrificing transparency or service.
“Customers today expect speed, transparency, and quality,” he said. “Our new shop is designed around exactly that. We’re excited to welcome our customers into a cleaner, more modern, and more efficient service environment without losing the friendly, local service we’re known for.”
Fast Lane Auto Repair Plus will continue operating at its Breckinridge Street location until the move is complete to ensure uninterrupted service. An official opening date has not yet been announced, but additional details are expected as renovations continue.
