The Owensboro location for Yummy Bowl, an Asian fusion concept built around customizable Mongolian stir-fry bowls, appears to be nearing an official opening.

After months of visible renovation work at 5135 Frederica Street — the former TGI Friday’s building that has sat vacant since 2020 — the restaurant took a public step forward on Jan. 12 with the launch of a Facebook page titled “Yummy Bowl Mongolian Stir-Fry & Sushi – Owensboro.” A post that signaled that a grand opening announcement is expected soon.

“Get ready, Owensboro! Yummy Bowl is bringing the ultimate Asian fusion experience to town,” the post reads.

At Yummy Bowl, guests select proteins, vegetables, sauces and noodles or rice cooked to order on a hot grill. The menu also features Japanese ramen with slow-simmered broths, fresh sushi made daily, and double-fried Korean fried chicken tossed in a variety of sauces.

According to the restaurant’s website and Facebook page, Yummy Bowl is designed as a family-friendly dining experience offering flavors inspired by Chinese, Korean, and Japanese cuisine. The Owensboro location has been listed on the company’s website since 2025, though restaurant representatives were not available in recent months to provide updates.
