Hospice and Palliative Care of Western Kentucky is bringing back Camp Erin this summer, a free overnight camp designed to support children and teens who are grieving the loss of a loved one.

The camp will be held Aug. 1–3 at Gasper River Retreat Center in Bowling Green. It is open to youth ages 6–17 and is now accepting registrations.

Camp Erin offers a safe and supportive environment where kids can connect with others who have experienced similar loss. Campers will participate in traditional activities such as ziplining and climbing, along with guided grief support sessions.

“Grief can be incredibly isolating, especially for kids,” said Caleb Potter, Bereavement Coordinator at HPC. “Camp Erin allows them to see that they’re not alone. It’s a weekend of healing, growth, and friendship they carry with them long after camp ends.”

Campers will also have the opportunity to honor their loved ones through remembrance activities like storytelling and a memorial wall. Trained grief professionals and volunteers will be on hand throughout the weekend to offer emotional support.

Space is limited, and early registration is encouraged. For more information or to register a camper, contact Caleb Potter at 270-926-7565 or visit www.hpcwky.org.

Camp Erin is part of a national network of bereavement camps supported by Eluna, a nonprofit that helps children and families affected by grief or addiction.
