Competing in the weekly match against the city-county schools, Daviess County’s boys golf team emerged victorious, shooting 156. Playing nine holes, Collin Reynolds led the way with a 34, while Jacob Nolan (39), Jaxson Unsel (41), and Jackson Powers (42) rounded out the teams scores.
Reynolds won the individual, with Owensboro’s Colby Vanover finishing second after shooting 38. Nolan tied for third with Owensboro’s Walker Gaddis.
“It was good to see Collin break through and play well,” Daviess County head coach Lars King said. “Hopefully this is a turning point to more under par rounds. Jacob Nolan has been a great player for us in the early season and he has been really consistent. Jackson and Jaxson have both been steady, and I think there will be more low scores coming from them. Overall, I am really happy with the team and how they rebounded after a tough day Saturday in Paducah.”
Owensboro finished second shooting 164, with Vanover (38), Gaddis (39), Tyler Block (42), and Brody Glenn (45) rounding out the teams scores. Apollo finished third after shooting 185, with Bea Brock (44), Brady Robbins (45), Lucas Cambron (46), Mason Hammonds (50), and Kamdyn Ulmer (50) leading the way.
Rounding out the teams in attendance was Owensboro Catholic who shot 206. Jack Krampe (47), Tyler Turner (48), Mills McKinley (50), and Tucker Oller (61) rounded out the team’s scores.
Raiders and Cougars compete in tri-match

Those doubles and triples will get you, and we’re going to keep working hard on our efforts around the green to clean those up.”
For the Cougars, Treyson Blades led the way shooting 42, while Carson Webb (53), Clay Brown (55), Ethan Carwile (58), and Keegan Gunterman (59) rounding out the team’s top five.
