A man died Thursday afternoon following a single-vehicle crash on Jack Hinton Road near KY 764 in the Whitesville area, according to the Daviess County Sheriff’s Office.
Authorities said Owensboro–Daviess County Central Dispatch received reports of the accident around 3:50 p.m. Emergency crews from the Sheriff’s Office, Daviess County Fire Department, Whitesville Fire Department, and AMR Ambulance Service responded to the scene.
Deputies and firefighters found a heavily damaged Honda Civic about 20 feet off the roadway. The initial investigation indicates the car was traveling eastbound when the driver lost control, crossed into the westbound lanes, and left the road. The vehicle reportedly flipped and rolled several times, ejecting the driver before coming to rest.
The driver, who was the only occupant of the car, was taken to Owensboro Health Regional Hospital where he died from his injuries, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
The crash remains under investigation by the Sheriff’s Accident Reconstruction Unit and the Daviess County Coroner’s Office.
