Competing in a stacked field against 14 other teams, Daviess County’s girls’ golf team finished fifth at the All State Championship, shooting 72 over par. A two-day tournament held at the University Club of Kentucky, on Saturday at the Wildcat, the Lady Panthers shot 43 over par. On Sunday, the team played at Big Blue, with Daviess County shooting 29 over par.

“Our total score was a little misleading on Saturday,” Daviess County Head Coach Jonas Billingsley said. “Alexa, Claire, and Baylie played some great golf for 17 holes. Each girl had the need to overcome adversity on one hole that cost several extra strokes.”

Claire Reynolds led the way for the Lady Panthers, shooting 152 over the two days and finishing 20th in the individual. Alexah Salamah (39th, 162), Baylie Billingsley (49th, 164), and Briley Billingsley (53rd, 166) rounded out the team’s top four scores, while Kennedi Minto finished 73rd and shot 180.

“This was a great event filled with the best talent Kentucky has to offer,” Billingsley said. “Extremely proud of our girls finishing 5th place, out of the top 15 teams in the state. I am extremely proud to coach these ladies and love where their games are at, headed into our Region tournament next Monday at Henderson County Club.”
