A 26-year-old Owensboro man has been arrested on 70 counts related to possession and distribution of child porn, according to the Owensboro Police Department.
According to an OPD release, Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) task force detectives made an arrest on September 23 following an investigation.
Authorities said the investigation resulted in the identification of Mason H. Kazlauskas as a suspect. He was taken into custody Tuesday morning at his residence in the 2100 block of Griffith Place West following the execution of a search warrant, OPD said.
“Preliminary findings uncovered more than 190 videos of child sexual abuse materials,” the release says. “Many of these videos have been positively identified by the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC).”
Officials said that due to statutory limits, only 20 counts per charge can be filed; however, additional charges are expected after a full forensic analysis of seized evidence.
According to OPD, Kazlauskas has been charged with:
• Distribution of Matter Portraying Sexual Performance by Minor under 12 (20 Counts)
• Distribution of Matter Portraying Sexual Performance by Minor over 12, under 18 (15 Counts)
• Possession of Matter Portraying Sexual Performance by Minor under 12 (20 Counts)
• Possession of Matter Portraying Sexual Performance by Minor over 12, under 18 (15 Counts)
