The Owensboro Sanitation Department will begin its annual vacuum leaf collection on October 16, starting with Zone 3A and making three passes through all city zones.

Residents are asked to rake leaf piles into their yards within 6 feet of the curb. Leaves should not be placed in the street or mixed with limbs, yard waste, or trash, as crews will not return for piles that are late or inaccessible.

Bagged leaves must be placed in plastic bags under 30 pounds and set out on regular trash day. Bagged leaves can also be taken to the Sportscenter parking lot on Hickman Avenue, where orange collection dumpsters are available.

To find your leaf zone or track collection progress, visit Owensboro.org/map or Owensboro.org/leaf, sign up for text or email alerts at Owensboro.org/enotify, or call CityAction at 270-687-4444.

Residents are also asked to keep piles off sidewalks, streets, and water meter lids, and to ensure the piles are not blocked by vehicles.

Loose brush and limb collection will end for the season on October 17. and will resume in mid-February.
