Officials are reminding Owensboro residents that deadlines are quickly approaching to pay their 2025 City property tax bills and avoid penalties.
Angela Waninger, the City’s director of finance and shared services, said property owners should have already received their City tax bill in the mail.
She said those who need a copy can call City Hall at 270-687-8537 or visit services.owensboro.org/propertytax.
There are four ways to pay your City property tax bill:
- By mail — Make checks payable to:

Must be postmarked by November 29 to avoid penalty.
- City of Owensboro KY
- Dropbox — located at City Hall, 101 East Fourth Street (accessible 24/7 via the Allen Street entrance). Payments must be deposited prior to 8 a.m. on December 1 to avoid a penalty.
- By phone — Call the City Tax Department Office at 270-687-8537.
- Online — Visit services.owensboro.org/propertytax for secure online payments.
In-person and phone payments must be completed by 5 p.m. on November 26.
For those paying by credit card, a 2.5% convenience fee will be added to the bill. Cardholders must provide their name, address, phone number, card type and number, expiration date, and signature to process payment.
If the property has changed ownership, residents are asked to forward the tax bill to the new owner. For any questions, contact the City tax office directly.
