Owensboro Community & Technical College’s Workforce Solutions division will host a free Lunch & Learn on infrared imaging and thermography on November 6.
The event will run from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Industrial Innovation Lab on OCTC’s Downtown Campus, 1501 Frederica Street.
The session will focus on updated safety and maintenance requirements under the NFPA 70B standard, which transitioned from a recommendation to a mandatory guideline on January 1, 2023. Thermal imaging is now a key tool for compliance, helping identify hidden electrical and mechanical issues before they become costly or dangerous.
Rick Barnes — a Certified Level 3 Thermographer, licensed electrician, instructor, and owner of R-1 Maintenance LLC — will lead the program. Attendees will learn about interpreting thermography reports, understanding insurance audits, certification opportunities, and how compliance can potentially reduce insurance costs. Hands-on demonstrations will be included.
The event is geared toward industry professionals, maintenance leaders, and facility managers. A complimentary catered lunch will be provided.
Space is limited and registration is required. To reserve a spot, email [email protected]
