The Owensboro Police Department is investigating a series of vehicle break-ins that have occurred throughout the city over the past 48 hours, officials say.
According to OPD, officers responded to Vass Automotive on Frederica Street on the afternoon of November 6, when approximately 20 vehicles were found with broken windshields from overnight vandalism.
This morning of November 7, patrol officers responded to multiple local hotels, taking more than 20 additional reports of vehicles that had been broken into with similar damage, officials said. Several victims have reported stolen property, including several firearms.
This investigation remains ongoing as additional reports continue to be filed, OPD said.
