Earlier in the month, Owensboro Catholic sent three athletes to compete at the New Balance RunningLane XC Championships, with Peyton Reid finishing second in the silver division. Running an 18:40.8, this is the first time in her career she broke past the 19-minute mark.
“I wanted to stay up in the front and try to put myself in a good position in the front to see how the tide turns out,” Reid said. “It was a big PR. I went out, saw how everyone was running, and I just decided to go out in front and go for it.”
The Lady Aces Ainsley Sutter and Natalie Atherton also competed, and according to their head coach, Jacob Reid, they both ran really well and finished the season strong.
