One person was injured overnight in a pair of shootings that officials believe are related, according to the Owensboro Police Department.

According to OPD, patrol officers responded shortly before 3 a.m. to a report of shots fired in the 600 block of Elm Street. Officers found a residence that had been struck multiple times by gunfire, though no injuries were reported at that location.

Officials say that while officers were still processing the Elm Street scene, additional gunshots were reported several blocks away. Police responded to the 400 block of Cedar Street, where dispatchers received a call reporting that a residence had been struck by gunfire and an adult female had been shot.

The victim was transported by AMR to a local hospital and treated for non-life-threatening injuries, according to OPD.

Detectives with the Owensboro Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division responded to both scenes and are continuing to investigate.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Gilbert at 270-687-8885, Owensboro Crime Stoppers at 270-687-8484, or submit a tip through the Owensboro Crime Stoppers Facebook page.
