Update 12/02/2025 7:45 a.m. – Officials with the Owensboro Fire Department said one victim was pulled from the unit Monday afternoon and transported to Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. The extent of the injuries has not been disclosed, but the individual was alive at the time.

Fire Department crews responded to a structure fire in the 700 block of West 5th Street on Monday afternoon.
The structure affected was the Nicky Hayden Apartments. According to OFD, the road was currently blocked at Cedar Street as firefighters worked the scene.
