Apollo outlasted Webster County, while Owensboro Catholic cruised to a win on the road. In other action, Hancock County and Owensboro both lost.
Apollo 67, Webster County 61
Kayden Green scored 12 of his team-high 18 points in the first half to power Apollo past Webster County 67-61. Landon Henning was second on the team in scoring with 17 points, and Tate Powers finished with 11 points.
“We finished the regular season in dramatic fashion with a hard-fought road win at Webster County,” Apollo Head Coach Ryne Tinsley said. “We finished the year 18-8. This is our most wins in the regular season since 2017, with as tough a schedule as anyone in the area.”
Grayson County 88, Hancock County 44
Nolan Maxwell led the way with 15 points, five rebounds, two assists, and one steal as the Hornets fell to Grayson County 88-44. Taylor Payne added 10 points, eight rebounds, and one steal, while Seth Hunt and Jacob Shultz both scored seven points.
Henderson County 66, Owensboro 54
Trailing by five points down the stretch with the ball, Owensboro was unable to capitalize, falling to Henderson County 66-54. Kade Arnold scored eight of his team-high 21 points in the fourth quarter, Zeke Beehn finished with 11 points, and DaMarcus Ganaway Jr. recorded six points.
Owensboro Catholic 67, University Heights 50
Dre’Mail Carothers led all scorers with 18 points as the Aces beat Crittenden County on the road 67-50. Jake Murphy hit three threes to go with his 14 points, Braylon Coots scored 11 of his 13 points in the fourth quarter, and Myles Grant finished with 10 points.
