Traveling to Bowling Green on Saturday, Daviess County swim held their own, finishing fourth overall at the 2026 KHSAA Region Two Championships. Owensboro Catholic finished sixth, Owensboro ninth, and Apollo 12th.

Daviess County finished first in girls 200 medley relay, girls 200 freestyle relay, girls 100 freestyle, and girls 100 breaststroke. Ryleigh Bevil and Ellie Girten advanced to semi-state as individuals, while the Lady Panthers 200 freestyle relay and 200 medley relay team of Alaina Mason, Grace Bullock, Bevil, and Girten also advanced.

The rest of the qualifiers for semi-state will be announced later this week, once the 2026 KHSAA Region One Championship concludes.

Owensboro Catholic’s Miller Bowman finished second in the 100 freestyle and advanced to semi-state. He also finished third in the 50 freestyle. Vince Coyne also had a standout performance for the boys, finishing third in the IM and fourth in the 100 freestyle. Mary Zborowski led the way for the girls’ team, finishing fourth in the 100 breaststroke, while the Lady Aces 200 and 400 freestyle relay teams were fifth.

“I am really proud of all the hard work the team has put in preparation for this meet,” Owensboro Catholic Head Coach Sam Howard said. “Especially, with missing school all this past week.”

For Owensboro, their boys’ team finished ninth, and their girls’ team was 11th.

“Everyone did great. We had notable performances from Ethan Lippert, Max Baur, Dawson Strobel, Camden Johnson, and Wade Harper, who all performed well for the boys,” Owensboro Head Coach Sean Jackson said. “Caroline Smith swam well for the girls.”

Apollo’s boys 400 freestyle and 200 medley relay teams finished eighth, while Keaton Boling was eighth in the 200 freestyle.
