Patrick “Pat” Norris Johnson, 74, of Owensboro, passed away peacefully on May 27, 2025. He was born, on May 23, 1951, in Daviess County, KY to the late Joseph and Betty (Norris) Johnson.
Pat was a member of Saints Joseph and Paul Catholic Church. He graduated from Western Kentucky University with a bachelor’s degree before attending the police academy and joining the Bowling Green Police Department. His career then led him to New Mexico, where he taught on Indian reservations. Eventually, he returned home to Owensboro, Kentucky, and went on to serve as principal at Mary Carrico Catholic School.
He had a deep love for researching genealogy and collecting arrowheads, and he was passionate about teaching young people about Jesus. He especially cherished spending time with his great-nieces and great-nephews, who brought him endless joy.
Along with his parents, Pat is preceded in death by brother-in-law Warren Sutherland.
Those left to cherish the memory of Pat include his siblings, Joseph “Bill” (Carolyn) Johnson of Gresham, OR Betty Jo (Jim) Mattingly, Carol Johnson, Mary Johnson, Angie Johnson all of Owensboro, KY, and several cherished nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
