Sharon Gail Bullington, 71, of Owensboro, passed away on June 2, 2025. She was born in Daviess County, KY, on November 30, 1953, to the late Ellis and Alice Mae (Short) Hester.
Sharon Bullington was a Kentucky Colonel who served as the sergeant over the kitchen at the Daviess County Detention Center, where she spent over 20 years preparing meals with skill and consistency. She had a true passion for cooking—whether it was for work or for those close to her, food was her way of showing up. Sharon also found joy in flowers and gardening, often surrounding herself with blooms that reflected her love for simple beauty and quiet moments. Sharon was deeply loved and will be fondly remembered by all who knew her.
Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of 57 years, Eddie Bullington; her children, Tim (Denise) Bullington, Melissa (Tony) Leftwich, and Tommy (Stacy) Bullington; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; her siblings, Danny (Barbara) Hester, Bruce (Sarah) Hester, Roger Hester, Steve (Karen) Hester, Linda (Bobby, deceased) Bullington, and Cindy (Joey) Masterson, and several cherished nieces and nephews. Sharon is preceded in death by her parents.

Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Saturday, June 7, 2025, at Haley McGinnis Funeral Home and Crematory. Burial to follow at Resurrection Cemetery. Friends and family are invited to visitation, on Saturday, June 7, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.
