
William Donald Rice, 88, of Greenville passed away on June 10th, 2025, at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital in Owensboro, KY. He was born in Muhlenberg County KY, on February 4th, 1937, the son of the late William Jesse Rice and Brooksie Irene Wells. He faithfully served as a deacon, choir leader, and Sunday school teacher at Orange Grove General Baptist Church. He was also in several quartets throughout his life. His love for singing and attending church was a constant joy in his life. Above all, he was a devoted father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 13th, at 2:00 PM at Gary’s Funeral Home in Greenville, officiated by Bro. Jerry Sweeney, assisted by Bro. Autry Moore. Burial will follow in Greens Chapel Church Cemetery in Greenville; KY. Gary’s Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one son, Timothy Rice.
He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Carole Sue Rice of Greenville, KY; one son, Dwight Alan (Robin) Rice of Greenville, KY; Five Grandchildren, Leslye (Craig) Patton of Owensboro, KY, Derek Rice of Greenville, KY, Holly Renae Cobb of Central City, KY, Michael Rice of Booneville, IN, Nathaniel Rice of Murray, KY; Four Great Grandchildren, Alyvia Cobb of Central City, KY, Keydon Cobb of Central City, KY, Bryson Rice of Greenville, KY, Nolan Patton Owensboro, KY; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be on Friday, June 13th at Gary’s Funeral Home from 10:00 AM until time of funeral at 2:00 PM.
