Mary “Kay” Peercy (Payne), 71, of Owensboro, was called home on June 18, 2025. She was born, on February 20, 1954, to the late Mary Geneva Payne.
Kay was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who cherished her family above all else. She retired from Daviess County Hospital after a dedicated career. In her free time, Kay enjoyed playing bingo and camping at Fish and Game with her loved ones. She especially loved beach trips, cheering on her grandchildren at their sporting events, and sharing Friday lunches with her girls — moments she held dear. Kay was also known for making incredibly delicious Christmas candy, a treat her family looked forward to every year.
Along with her parents, Kay is preceded in death by her grandson, Braden Peercy; her sister-in-law, Debbie Payne; and her special aunt and uncle, Rosina “Grandma” and Bill “Grandaddy Bill” Clark.
Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of one month shy of 50 years, Randall “Randy” Peercy, two sons, Jeff (Jenna) Peercy and Jeremy Peercy; four grandchildren, Blake (Kailey) Peercy, Trayson, Emma Peercy and Kaitlyn Peercy; four great-grandchildren, Maci, Colt, Skylar, and Ruger; her brothers, Wayne (Rosa) Payne and Ronnie Payne; her sister, Dawn (Danny) Johnson, and several cherished nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at 5:00 p.m., on Sunday, June 22, 2025, at Haley McGinnis Funeral Home and Crematory. Friends and family are invited to visitation, at the funeral home, on Sunday, June 22, 2025, from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Graveside services will take place at Resurrection Cemetery on Monday, June 23, 2025, with a procession starting at Haley McGinnis Funeral Home and Crematory at 8:45 a.m.
