Larry D. Smith, 82, passed away on June 20, 2025 under the care of Twin Rivers Nursing & Rehab. in Owensboro. He was born November 23, 1942 to the late Rhonda and Dora Farmer Smith. He retired from Yager Materials. He also worked at Coke a cola bottling plant and the Rose Brothers Company. He served in the United States Air Force from 1961-1969.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Douglas Smith; a son, Andrew Rhonda Smith; and his fiancé of 30 years, Sherry Sutherland.
Survivors include his two daughters, Erica L. Finney of Idaho and Charity Williams of Wyoming; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; several cousins; and a great friend and caregiver, Michelle Sutherland.
Memorial Service will be at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, June 24, 2025 at Cecil Funeral Home with visitation form 12:00pm – 1:00 pm on Tuesday. Burial will follow in Cates Cemetery with military honors.
