Philip Leon Flood

Philip Leon Flood, age 72 of Stephensport, KY passed away June 20, 2025, at Breckinridge Memorial Hospital. He was born in Breckinridge County on December 26, 1952, son of the late Harold Vincent and Mary Agnes Kannapel Flood. Philip was a member of St. Romuald Catholic Church. He was a lifelong farmer who raised a BIG garden and was known by his neighbors as the “watermelon man.” He enjoyed watching birds and U K basketball and loved animals.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his granddaughters Dana and Donna Hack and brothers Gerald, Vincent and Rickey Flood.

Philip is survived by his wife Charlene Flood

8 children: Millie Hack (Mike), Michael Flood (Tracy), Charlie Flood (Rachel), Stephen Flood (Bonnie), Danny Flood (Erin), Cindy Sturgeon (Jamie), Doug Flood (Maria) and Julie Janecek (Jason)

1 stepdaughter: Hailey Pero

24 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren to arrive in the next few weeks.

3 brothers: Donnie Flood (Janet), Tony Flood (Kathy) and Joe Flood (Katie)

3 sisters: Rosemary Neff (Johnnie), Sharon Hughes (C L) and Brenda Wheatley (Dwight)

2 sisters-in-law: Vickie Flood and Debbie Flood

Mother-in-law: Linda Belleville

Many nieces, nephews, cousins and their families.

Funeral services will be held at St. Romuald Catholic Church on Wednesday, June 25, 2025, at 11 AM with burial in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held at Trent-Dowell Funeral Home on Tuesday, 4-8 PM and Wednesday after 8 AM. All times are central. The rosary will be recited at 7 PM on Tuesday.
