
Marvin Forrest Sutton, 85, of Owensboro, passed away on Friday, June 20, 2025 while under the care of Hospice of Western Kentucky. He was born March 26, 1940 in Daviess County to the late Anna Myrtle Dehart Sutton and Robert Sutton. Marvin worked his way thru college at A & P Grocery. He was a retired insurance agent for Prudential Insurance Co. He was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church and deacon emeritus, Masonic Lodge Owensboro Yellowbanks 130 for 50 years. He was also a Kentucky Colonel. Marvin enjoyed outdoor sports like hunting and fishing, photography, reading, studying the Bible, travel, carpentry, music and singing.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Linda Sutton Loyd; and a nephew, Rodney Lear.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Wanda Jean Lear Sutton; niece, Chrisie Steele; nephew, Jerel Loyd; brothers-in-law, Robert D. Lear (Linda Stewart) and Wayne Lear (Reba Daugherty); and other nieces, Lisa Gains (Alton) and Faith Ann Mefford (Johnny).
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 26, 2025 at James H. Davis Funeral Home and Crematory officiated by Rev. Conner Reed. Burial will follow in Rosehill Cemetery. Visitation is from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.
