Stacy Ann Payne Wright , 51, of Curdsville, was called home on June 20, 2025, after a 13-year battle with cancer. She was born in Owensboro, on November 3, 1973, to Stella Payne and the late Bernard Payne.
Stacy was a was a member of St. Elizabeth Catholic Church.
More than anything in life, Stacy found her greatest joy and purpose in being a mother. Her children were her world —she celebrated their victories, comforted their hurts, and stood by them with unwavering devotion through every season of life. Stacy was the kind of mother who showed up, who listened with her whole heart, and who loved fiercely and without condition.
Some of her favorite moments were the simple ones—visiting with her kids, talking and laughing, sharing stories, or just enjoying each other’s company. She especially loved traveling with them, making memories wherever they went. Whether it was a quick road trip or a special getaway, what mattered most to Stacy was being together. Her love and presence made even the smallest moments unforgettable.
Stacy is preceded in death by her father Bernard Payne.
Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of 30 years, Joey Wright; her children Olivia Wright and Catherine Wright; her mother Stella Payne; her siblings, Byron (Julie) Payne of Oklahoma, Melody (Tim) Cecil, and Shannon Payne all of Owensboro; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Thursday, June 27, 2025, at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church with Father Carl McCarthy presiding. Burial to follow at St. Alphonsus Cemetery. Friends and family are invited to visit from 8:30 a.m. until the time of the service.
