It is with great sorrow that we share the passing of Robert Allen Burton on June 28th, 2025, due to a tragic accident in Arco, Idaho. Rob was born in Chatham, Ontario, Canada on March 11th, 1971. He graduated from Assumption College Catholic High School in Windsor, Ontario, Canada. He moved to Kentucky permanently in 2014, to be closer to his children and grandchildren. During his time in Kentucky, he met and married his wife, and made many friends through his work at Meijer and Ernie Davis and Sons.
Rob is preceded in death by his mother, Janet Pauline Reaume Burton; father, James Clifford Burton; and his brother, Daniel William Burton.
He is survived by his loving wife, Debra Jones Burton; three daughters, Johnna Marie Davis (Donald), Dominique Rachel Burton, and Sarah Ann Burton; adored grandchildren, Kenneth Reise Nugent, Gwendolyn Rose Nugent, Parker James Nugent, Luna Marie Clark, and Jensen Ray Davis; stepchildren, Chip Hester (Tanya) and Rachel Anfinson (Darren); three step-grandchildren, Adara Ellis, Adam Hester, and Bre Hester; siblings, Shelly Anne Burton and Chris James Burton; as well as many cherished extended family and friends.
Rob was a light in this world to everyone that knew him. He had a carefree, adventurous spirit and enjoyed being silly, playful, and goofy whenever he could. He strongly believed in not taking life too seriously. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He was the kind of person who always had time for you, no matter who you were, or what you needed. The world will forever be a darker place without him in it.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 6, 2025 at James H. Davis Funeral Home and Crematory. The service will be live-streamed at www.davisfuneralhome.com. Visitation is from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home.
