William Arter Brooks, Jr., 85, of Owensboro, died on Wednesday, July 9, 2025 at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. He was born December 10, 1939 in Owensboro to the late William A. Brooks Sr. and Laura Bell Brooks Timms. William retired from Dana Corporation and was a U.S. Navy veteran.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Nettie Margaret Brooks; and siblings, Mannie Ann and her husband, Bob, Janice Baker, and Chuck Brooks and his wife, Carol.
Survivors include his three daughters, Connie Francis Brooks, Sherry Lynn Sangalli (Steve), and Deborah Ann Sanders (Dale); grandchildren, Christopher “John Henry” Bartlett (Ellen Jett), Deanna Kay Taylor (Bryant), Olivia Ziegler (Chris), Natalie Nicole Dickerson (Noah), Brooke Lynn Sangalli; great-grandchildren, Gavin Sanders (Allison Folkema) and Cameron Taylor; brother-in-law, Phil Baker; and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 12, 2025 at Owensboro Memorial Gardens.
