
Roger Dale Lewis, 63, of Owensboro, passed away surrounded by his loving family on July 9, 2025, under the compassionate care of Hospice of Western Kentucky. Born in Evansville, Indiana, on January 30, 1962, Roger was the beloved son of the late Myron and Margaret “Peggy” Lewis.
Roger was a devoted and hardworking man who took great pride in a job well done, dedicating many years to the carpentry trade. Roger found joy in life’s simple pleasures like playing horseshoes, gathering around a bonfire, and spending precious time with his family. He was especially proud of his grandchildren and wore the name “Pawpaw” with honor and love. Roger was the definition of a good man, as he was steadfast, caring, and generous. He will be missed deeply.
In addition to his parents, Roger was preceded in death by his brothers, Dwight, Charlie, Kent, Tony, and Larry Lewis.
Those left to cherish his memory are his daughters, Kimberly (Adrian) Lewis and Pamela (Ronnie) Cameron; siblings, Myra Pickett, Laura (Ray) Bingaman, Peggy Bray, Ray Lewis, Danny (Teresa) Lewis, Mark Lewis, and Vi (Jim) Lewis; grandchildren, Elias Campbell and Zackary Peters; many nieces and nephews and other loving family and friends.
The family would like to send a heartfelt thank you to Roger’s hospice nurse, Lacey Littrell, for the care and compassion she provided him and the family during his final days.
