Karen Lawson, 49, of Owensboro passed away July 10, 2025. She was born in Detroit, Michigan on May 28, 1976 to the late Richard and Joyce Bilbrey.
Above all, she treasured time with her family, especially her beloved grandchildren, creating lasting memories filled with laughter, warmth, and love. She found great joy in the outdoors, where she embraced her passions for fishing and hunting—activities that brought her both peace and excitement. Her connection to nature was matched only by her deep affection for animals, whom she cared for with unwavering kindness and compassion.
Along with her parents, Karen is preceded in death by her brothers, Rick and Steve Bilbrey.
Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Todd Lawson; children, Austin Lawson, Lexi Mayl, Robert (Jenna) Lawson, Alyshia (Dakota) Mayfield, and Ryker Simpson; grandchildren, Waylon, Carson, Jackson and Maevelyn; father and mother-in-law, Bob and Donna Lawson; one nephew, and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Private family services will be held at a later date.
Haley McGinnis Funeral Home & Crematory is honored and privileged to be entrusted with Karen Lawson’s care. Please leave condolence messages for the family of Mrs. Lawson and sign their virtual guestbook at www.haleymcginnis.com.
