Charles R. Shaver, Sr., 76, of Owensboro, passed away on Monday, July 14, 2025 at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. He was born September 29, 1948 in Daviess County to the late Robert Charles Shaver and Mary Rearden Shaver. Charles retired from Commonwealth Aluminum after 37 years, where he worked as an electric engineer. He was a UK fan and Atlanta Braves fan.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Regina Mason.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Pam Shaver; three sons, Chuck Shaver (Cindy), Scott Shaver (Stephanie), and Michael Travis Shaver (Yanzhi); six grandchildren, Colby (Destinee), Caleigh, Brooke (Hannah), Kewennn, Shuyan, and Cassie; nine great-grandchildren; brother, Stephen Shaver (Debbie); sister, Sandy Barrow; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, July 18, 2025 at James H. Davis Funeral Home and Crematory. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery. Visitation is from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday and from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.
