
Julia Ann Bittel, 78, of Owensboro, KY, passed away on July 14, 2025. She was born on April 29, 1947, to the late Charles W. and Mary Rose (Fenwick) Chappell.
Julia was a devoted member of St. Anthony Catholic Church. She found joy in reading, traveling, and tending lovingly to her flower garden. Above all, she cherished time spent with her family. Her warmth, faith, and gentle spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Those left to cherish Julia’s memory include her children, Tammy (Tim) Nugent, Tommy Bittel, and Timmy (Amanda) Bittel; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren, and her siblings, Mary Pearl Miller, James K. Chappell, and Joe (Florence) Chappell.
In addition to her parents, Julia is preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Larry Bittel I, and her siblings, William “Bill” Chappell, Charles Earl Chappell, Matilda Harvell, and Martha Wathen.
Services will be held at 12:00 p.m., on Friday, July 18, 2025, at St Anthony Catholic Church, with Father Mike Clark presiding. Friends and family are invited to visitation, at the funeral home, on Thursday, July 17, 2025, from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., with prayers being said at 6:00 p.m. Visitation will resume on Friday, July 18, 2025, from 11:00 am until the time of mass at the church. Burial will follow mass at Owensboro Memorial Gardens.
