John David Glenn, 76, of Owensboro, passed away on Friday, August 22, 2025. He was born in Elba, Kentucky on August 23, 1948, to the late David Lee and Mary Bell Glenn.
He was a man of strong Catholic faith who lived his life with love, hard work, and devotion to his family. John had a passion for remodeling houses, always finding joy in creating and building with his own hands. An outdoorsman at heart, he loved spending time outside and was happiest when gathered around the grill, barbecuing for the people he loved. Above all, he was a devoted family man who cherished his grandchildren and the special memories he made with them.
Along with his parents, John was preceded in death by his sister, Nancy Kimbley.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 56 years, Jeannie Wathen Glenn; his children, Tyler Glenn and Krissie (Greg) Bowen; grandchildren, Brittany Mullen, Ryley Bowen, Raegan Bowen and Michael Howard; and brother, Larry D. Glenn.
Family and friends are welcome to visitation from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., on Wednesday, August 27, 2025, at Haley McGinnis Funeral Home.
