Linda Cuzzort Payne, 78, of Owensboro, KY, passed away on August 27, 2025. She was born on May 31, 1947, to the late Alva and Golda Shanks.
Linda found joy in life’s simple pleasures, whether it was riding around on her golf cart, sharing her love with all animals—especially her beloved dog, Sissy—or spending cherished time with her family. Above all, she was happiest when surrounded by those she loved most, caring for them and creating lasting memories together. Her warmth, kindness, and devotion to family will be remembered always.
Those left to cherish Linda’s memory include her children, Angela Covington, Kimberly (Mike) Bickett, Anthony (Sherry) Lane, and Candy Cuzzort; grandchildren, Robin James, Michael James, Polly Bickett, Andrew Covington, Travis Lane, Alex Zachary Lane, Christian Terrell, and Cage Cuzzort; great-grandchildren, Emilee, Conner, Jaxon, Jase and Nova Lee; and siblings, Sharon Garrett, Pat House, David Shanks, Jan Dill, and Van Shanks.
In addition to her parents, Linda is preceded in death by her husband, James Robert Payne, 3 brothers, 2 sisters, and grandson James Bickett
