
Helen Delois Gray took her eternal vacation with Jesus on August 28, 2025. Born to the union of Homer Gray, Sr. and Viola M. Poole Gray, on October 5, 1944, in Harned, KY. She visited The Guiding Star Baptist Church in Lewisport, KY. In her later years, she attended regularly The Jimmy Swaggart Media Church, Baton Rouge, Louisiana. She could often be found visiting the Adams Village Senior Citizens Center.
Helen graduated from Breckinridge County High School in 1963, and started her first job at the Breckinridge County Hospital until she relocated to Owensboro, KY, where she received great joy and happiness working at The Wendell Foster Center Campus. She loved and was loved by many residents. Those loving memories stayed with her until her death. Helen believed in The Cross, and the only way to succeed was by The Cross which was where her faith lay.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her grandson Emmanuel Banks, 3 sisters Georgia Belle Gray, Barbara Ann Hughes and Rita Gail Mucker, 4 brothers Stoy Allen Gray, Robert Cletus Gray, Wilbur Thomas Gray and Frank Duncan.
She leaves to miss her presence 2 daughters Tory Banks Donafrio and Penny Banks Daugherty.
4 grandsons: Yonterry, Jordan and Jeyon Banks and Vaughn Wanzer
1 granddaughter: Vieaha Daugherty
4 great grandsons: Kysen and Blayze Dull, Harlem Baxter and Alias Whitley
1 great granddaughter: Ariaha Baxter
1 brother: Homer Gray, Jr.
1 sister: Dinola ‘Pat’ Watkins and her favorite brother-in-law Jesse Watkins
A host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and friends in Hardinsburg and Owensboro.
A graveside service will be held at Wales Cemetery in Harned, KY on Saturday, August 30, 2025, at 11 AM central time under the direction of Trent-Dowell Funeral Home.
The family would like at this time to thank everyone for any act of kindness, whether it be prayers, food, visits or phone calls.
