Harold William Young, Sr., age 82 of Campbellsville, KY and formerly of Hardinsburg, KY, died September 6, 2025, at Campbellsville Nursing and Rehab Center. He was born in McQuady, KY on February 28, 1943, son of the late Alton ‘Jack’ and Amy Gertrude Armes Young.
Harold was a member of Friendship Baptist Church, Taylor County Cattlemen’s Association, a veteran of the United States Army and retired from General Electric Appliance Park. He enjoyed the outdoors, helping on the farm with the cattle, working at the Taylor County Fair in any capacity that was needed, playing Santa at the nursing facility and watching UK basketball and baseball.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by Linda, his wife of 38 years and four brothers Freddie ‘Wishie’ Young, Donald Ray Young, Elvis Young and Gilbert Young.
Harold is survived by 3 children: Harold Young, Jr. of Campbellsville, KY; Alicia Hart of Hudson, KY and Robert Driskell of Louisville, KY.
1 grandson: Justin Young (Karli) and 2 great grandsons: Hudson and Harrison Young
9 brothers and sisters: Pat Young of McDaniels, KY; Greg Young, Zora Rusher, Debbie Young and Judy Finley of Hardinsburg, KY; Ricky Young of Balltown, KY; Magdalene Keith and Margaret Watson of Georgetown, IN; Emma Waits of Louisville, KY

Funeral services will be held at Friendship Baptist Church on Thursday, September 11, 2025, at 12 PM with burial in the Ivy Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held at Trent-Dowell Funeral Home on Thursday, 9:30 – 11:30 AM. All times are central.
