Donald Ray Spratt, 89, of Owensboro passed away September 14, 2025, at Signature Healthcare of Hillcrest. He was born in Daviess County on January 29, 1936, to the late William B. and Lucy Mae Gist Spratt. Donald served in the United States Navy and then went on to retire from Whirlpool after 33 years.
Donald was a member of Third Baptist Church and lived a life filled with faith, determination, and adventure. A dedicated runner, he participated in many marathons over the years and was known for his discipline, often coming home from work only to head out and run 10 miles. His love for traveling took him to many places, where he enjoyed experiencing new cultures and making memories with family and friends. His strong work ethic, kind spirit, and zest for life inspired those around him, leaving an example of perseverance and joy that will be remembered always.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by several sisters and a brother.
Those left to cherish Donald’s memory are his daughter Donna Rhei Spratt, his grandson Justin Wayne (Rachel) Hamilton, and his great grandchildren, Calvin and Mae.
