Evelyn “Colean” Thompson, 94, of Owensboro died Thursday, September 18, 2025. She was born on August 6, 1931 in Muhlenberg County to the late Nathan Vincent and Pearl Holmes Vincent. In 1998, Colean went to work for Wellington Parc as a dietary aide where her co-workers in the kitchen quickly became family. She enjoyed walking, bargain hunting, and dearly loved her cats as if they were her kids.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Ralph Thompson on June 22, 1996; a son, Scott Thompson; siblings, H. D. Vincent, Elzie Vincent, Carl Vincent II, and Gladys Blake; and a grandson, Drew.
Survivors include a son, William Ralph “Sandy” Thompson, II.; seven grandchildren, Wendi, Bill, Brad, Logen, Baylee, Brian, and Kelley; 13 great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, September 26, 2025 at James H Davis Funeral Home & Crematory. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery in Muhlenberg County. Visitation will be on Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
