Derrell Bradley Carney, 84, of Owensboro, passed away on Thursday, September 25, 2025 at his daughter’s home in Tell City, Indiana. He was born December 26, 1940 in Springfield, Kentucky to the late Morris Bradley Carney and Sarah Elizabeth Condor Carney. Derrell had retired from Alcan Aluminum and was a member of Masonic Service Lodge 130 Yellow Banks. He was a Green Bay Packers fan.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert Dale Carney and James Taylor Carney; and stepmother, Shirley Basham Carney.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Sarah Carney; daughter, Beth Smith (Brian); two grandchildren, Allison Smith and Bradley Smith; sister, Betty Lou Eaton (Rex); and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 30, 2025 at James H. Davis Funeral Home and Crematory. Burial will follow in Rosehill Cemetery. Visitation is from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Monday and from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home.
