
Connie Sue Eyer, 70, of Owensboro, Kentucky, passed away on Tuesday, September 30, 2025 at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. She was born July 17, 1955 in Los Angeles, California to the late Donald Lee Hopper and Phyllis Irene Ashby Hopper. Connie grew up in Modesto, Illinois. She moved to Belleville, Illinois, living there from 1985 to 2020, then moved to Owensboro, Kentucky to be with her grandkids. She retired as a personal assistant and secretary for the State of Illinois for many years. Connie enjoyed NASCAR races, crafting, NFL football fan, and going to the beach. She loved spending time with her grandchildren, the color yellow and hummingbirds.
Connie knew Jesus all her life and attended Modesto Baptist Church, First Christian Church in Belleville, Illinois, Cornerstone Christian Church in Shiloh, Illinois, and Owensboro Christian Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Phillip Hopper; and a sister, Beverly Hazelwood.
She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Marvin Scott Eyer; children, Eric Scott Eyer and Amanda Sue Wilhite (Michael); grandchildren, Noah Matthew Sprouls, Kylar August Wilhite, Raven Linda Wilhite, Levi Gabriel Sprouls, and Zoe Kay Wilhite; siblings, Larry Hopper (Ann) and David Hopper (Mary); and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, October 6, 2025 at James H. Davis Funeral Home and Crematory. Visitation is from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 5, 2025 and from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. on Monday at the funeral home.
